We hold an exhibition Shiho Hayashi’s ceramic works.  “Curiosity” is a driving force for artists. Shiho Hayashi’s pottery is the product of pure curiosity. With elements such as torus shapes and reconstructions of fragmented objects, she makes us curious about the space we occupy. At the exhibition, you will experience her new approach to “black”. It’s not glaze that gives these works their black color. She fires them along with sawdust to produce a deeper, more wondrous shade of black through carbonization and color variation that occur within the kiln. This blackening technique makes her works all the more contemporary. Curiosity is something that enriches our lives. Enjoy this exhibition with as much curiosity as possible!
