Beautiful piece by Yoko Ichikawa’s “Lacquered Leather”. We will be holding an exhibition of her work in the gallery next month from July 6 to 21. Have you heard of “漆皮(Lacquered Leather)”? I think not many people know about that. The history of “Lacquered Leather” spans all the way back to the Asuka period. It is a traditional craft technique that consists of lacquering tanned leather. She is a young artist express a new viewpoint for Lacquer leather craft in Japan. It is a first time her solo exhibition!Please don’t pass up this opportunity!
