Akari Sato a ka ri 2019, Between earring
Yoko Yano yokoyano 2019, Necklace

A fragment of imperfect beauty is completed by combining it with the human body. Yoko melts the glass with a burner work and creates an organic shape similar to a textured crochet design. The soft texture of the glass enhances the beauty of the skin, and the heat-resistant glass is extremely light. Akari creates a modern and light rhythm by combining the different materials of white porcelain and acrylic. By wearing the delicate handcrafted beauty of the two authors, your body will be a piece of contemporary beauty.

Kanehen cuts out brass, devises a layering method, and creates quiet, moving solid shapes. She has been making instruments for daily life through the technique of forging for many years, and her mobiles might depart from utilitarian beauty, but they remain close to daily life. Still images overlap for an instant to create a memorable and beautiful movie. Enjoy the constantly changing formations. Enjoy the mobile, a dynamic sculpture that exists between light and shadow.

Reiko Kinoshita

KEI -distant-

Reiko Kinoshita 2019, 20×20cm

In Reiko Kinoshita’s atelier, there is a large window where the plum blossoms underneath the eyes and the ever-changing sky color spread like a screen. She puts the paper on the window and “makes” it with sunlight, but in the side, it will look like a piece of tanned paper scattered randomly. Kinoshita’s work is an act of trying to express the continuation of time, using photographic paper exposed to sunlight, paper tanning, folds and folds, and fog-like paint diffused from airbrushes as media. When I announced my work in 2017, “Is it possible to make a picture of the passage of time, not a picture or video? ”As she notes, works using photographic paper are drawn and controlled by her hand, but there is a“ possibility to be further added ”by the light of the sun. It will continue after reaching the handIt is established with. (Although there is no real change, photographic paper continues to be sensitized.) Also, works using tanning are like a round-trip letter exchanged between the artist’s work that repeats daily and the phenomenon of sunlight. Existence. These works are produced in the context of art, but at the same time, they are attractive because they are both crafted and familiar. This may be because there are acts of people who feel the “life” such as creases and folds as the material of the work, and the artist’s actions feel a longing for “aging”. The title of the exhibition “Samurai” means longing and thinking. Reiko Kinoshita’s work takes you to a journey of imagination somewhere that is not here-by noting and showing the trivial being overlooked in your life.

CURIOSITY

2019.09.07 Sat ー 09.23 Mon

Shiho Hayashi 2019, Wall object fusion

We hold an exhibition Shiho Hayashi’s ceramic works.  “Curiosity” is a driving force for artists. Shiho Hayashi’s pottery is the product of pure curiosity. With elements such as torus shapes and reconstructions of fragmented objects, she makes us curious about the space we occupy. At the exhibition, you will experience her new approach to “black”. It’s not glaze that gives these works their black color. She fires them along with sawdust to produce a deeper, more wondrous shade of black through carbonization and color variation that occur within the kiln. This blackening technique makes her works all the more contemporary. Curiosity is something that enriches our lives. Enjoy this exhibition with as much curiosity as possible!
